Your Shein order has been marked as “shipped” for several days, but the tracking seems stuck somewhere between China and your mailbox. This common situation is explained by a mechanism that most tracking guides do not detail: the transfer of your package from an international carrier to a local carrier in France, along with a change of tracking number.
Why the Shein tracking number changes along the way
When you validate an order, Shein entrusts your package to an initial carrier for the international leg. This carrier transports the package to a logistics hub in Europe.

At this stage, the package is handed over to a local operator: La Poste/Colissimo, Chronopost, or a private relay network. This transfer generates a new tracking number, different from the first. The initial tracking provided by Shein then stops updating, which gives the impression that the package is stuck.
To understand in detail how Shein delivery works in France with a carrier, you need to identify which operator takes over the last leg and switch to their own tracking tool.

Finding the correct carrier tracking number from the Shein app
You may have noticed that the “My Orders” page in the Shein app sometimes displays two distinct tracking lines? The first corresponds to the international carrier. The second, when it appears, is that of the local French carrier.
Here’s how to retrieve this second number:
- Open the Shein app, then go to “My Orders” and select the relevant order.
- Tap on “Tracking”: if the package has been transferred, a second tracking number appears below the first, sometimes with the name of the local carrier (Colissimo, Chronopost, Mondial Relay, etc.).
- Copy this number and paste it directly on the website of the relevant carrier to obtain up-to-date tracking, scan by scan.
If the second number does not appear yet, be patient. The delay between the actual transfer and the display of the new tracking can take a few days. The information updates in the app once the local carrier has scanned the package upon its arrival in France.

Shein express package tracking: FedEx and DHL offer more precise tracking
For express deliveries to France, Shein increasingly relies on FedEx and DHL. The difference from the standard mode is not limited to speed: express tracking is much more detailed.
On the FedEx or DHL website, each physical step of the package generates a timestamped scan: departure from the warehouse, arrival at the sorting platform, customs clearance, and out for delivery. You track the journey almost in real-time.
Link your Shein number to FedEx or DHL tracking
The tracking number provided by Shein in the app is sometimes directly recognized on the FedEx or DHL website. In this case, you just need to paste it into the carrier’s search bar.
If the number is not recognized immediately, there are two possible explanations. The package has not yet been picked up by the express carrier. Or the format of the number differs between Shein and the carrier, which happens when the internal Shein number does not correspond to the AWB (air waybill) number used by FedEx or DHL.
In this second case, wait for the update in the Shein app: the FedEx or DHL number will appear there as soon as the carrier has scanned the package.
What to do when tracking remains stuck for several days in France
A package whose tracking does not move after its arrival in France generally goes through one of these situations:
- The package is awaiting customs clearance. Since the tightening of customs controls on shipments from China, some packages remain in customs for several days without the tracking being updated.
- The transfer to the local carrier has occurred, but the new tracking number has not yet been updated in the Shein app. The package is physically moving, only the tracking is delayed.
- The package has arrived at a relay point or post office without notification. Check your email (including spam): the local carrier sometimes sends a separate delivery notice from Shein.
Contact Shein customer service after ten days without an update. The “Customer Service” tab in the app allows you to open a chat. Mention both tracking numbers if you have them, and specify the date of the last visible scan.
Requesting a refund in case of non-received package
If the package remains untraceable after the maximum time indicated on your order confirmation, Shein offers a refund or reshipment. The request can be made from “My Orders” by selecting “Confirm Non-Receipt”.
The refund is credited to the original payment method or as Shein credit, depending on your choice. Keep a screenshot of the stuck tracking before initiating the procedure: this speeds up processing by customer service.

The tracking of a Shein package in France is based on a simple principle but rarely explained: your order changes hands between an international carrier and a local carrier, and the tracking number changes with it. Identifying this second number, then switching to the tracking tool of the French carrier, remains the most reliable way to know where your package is at each stage.
